Why Open Graph tags matter
When someone shares your link, social networks read Open Graph tags to build the preview card. Without them, the platform guesses the title and image, which often looks broken and gets fewer clicks.
What makes a good share card
- og:title and og:description written for people, not search engines
- An og:image of at least 1200 x 630 pixels, under 5 MB
- og:url matching the canonical address
- A twitter:card tag, usually summary_large_image
Social networks cache previews. After fixing tags, use the platform debug tools to refresh the cache.
